LED Light Therapy

The Treatment

LED Light Therapy

LED Light Therapy is an advanced state-of-the-art technology that transforms skin without discomfort or recovery time.

Typical indications for the procedures are:

  • Acne
  • Scars
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Enlarged / clogged pores
  • Sagging skin

Facial Lymphatic Drainage

This gentle therapy encourages the natural circulation of the lymph through the face removing wastes, toxins, and excess water while increasing the flow of fresh oxygen and nutrients to the skin. Good for tired and puffy areas on face & under eyes, soothes fine facial tissue. It is also very relaxing.

The DermaBuilder helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin firmness, skin tone and skin texture. It’s a complex of peptides that helps to repair and improve the skin health by stimulating fibroblast (cells that make collagen) and broad-spectrum collagen/elastin proteins. DermaBuilder peptide complex targets the new skin that is exposed during the exfoliation process. There are two types of natural peptide groups in the ingredients. One peptide group mimics Botox® by blocking the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine from activating the nerve junction, therefore reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines caused by muscle contractions in facial expression, especially on the forehead and around the eyes. The other peptide group stimulates the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin where fine lines and wrinkles form at the Epidermal-Dermal Junction. The results are enhanced skin elasticity, texture and firmness.

Britenol Booster

This powerful yet non-irritating formula will leave your skin glowing and refreshed. The Britenol formula contains Alpha Arbutin derived from bearberry extract, which is a powerful ingredient to help reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. It also contains a highly stabilized form of Vitamin C that is a powerful antioxidant and natural exfoliator that protects the skin from photo damage, which helps to brighten and clarify the skin. It gently nourishes skin to help minimize the appearance of dark spots, sun spots, and hyperpigmentation.

CTGF Growth Factor Booster

CTGF™ is a Vortex-Booster™, an advanced anti-aging serum using Human Growth Factors. The CTGF human growth factors are proteins that are very concentrated. One of the most concentrated levels in the industry, boosting the skin’s metabolism to trigger the skin’s mechanism for renewal. Growth Factors are proteins responsible for dramatic cell proliferation and regeneration. The CTGF Booster is great for lines, wrinkles, laxity, rough and dull skin. CTGF’s are used to repair wounds, which includes the formation of collagen; they help regenerate new healthy tissue. The result is skin that shows enhanced elasticity with an improvement in skin texture, increased firmness and decreased inflammation.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which is a computer chip encased in a glass-like resin, which emits therapeutic wavelengths (or colours) of light energy. Not to be confused with laser, the light therapy was originally developed to fast-track the healing of wounds and post surgery scars. The rejuvenation of healthy skin, too, was a happy coincidence. If the therapeutic light energy is in the correct wavelength, the cells in the dermis layer of skin will convert that light energy into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the fuel that the cell uses to do its job. The fibroblast cells in the dermis layer have the job of producing collagen (which give the skin fullness or that plumped look) and elastin (which give the skin the ability to bounce back). Thus, LED gives the cells a ‘full tank of fuel’ and these fibroblast cells start to produce collagen and elastin. The result is the complexion is plumped up with new collagen (which pushes the folds of the wrinkles out) and new elastin (which helps to tighten the skin and give it more elasticity). LED is great for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving uneven skin tone, reducing pores size, brightening the skin and rejuvenating the youthful look of your skin.

  • What is it?
  • LED means light-emitting diode. It works by emitting infrared lights (causing heat) in different wavelengths/ spectrums, which have different skincare benefits. Amber light stimulates collagen and elastin. Red light is most commonly used to promote circulation. White light penetrates the deepest and works to tighten and reduce inflammation. Blue light kills bacteria. During LED therapy, a device sends light waves deep into the skin to trigger natural intracellular reactions. Depending on the light, your skin is going to respond differently. If the light is red, your skin responds by building, strengthening, and maximizing cellular structure. Red light is also believed to target oil glands to reduce cytokines, which cause inflammation and play a role in chronic acne. In the case of blue light, specific wavelengths stimulate production of oxygen radicals that kill P. acnes bacteria, all without damaging skin. These therapies are usually add-ons to other therapies, but also available as stand alone therapies.
  • How does it work?
  • If you decide to get an LED therapy, you really don’t have to do much but lie there under the light. The LED panel is placed a few inches away from the client’s face, eye protection is placed on the eyes as the lights are quite bright. We treat the skin for about 15 minutes with the lights at a time. At first, it feels warm, but clients report really liking the feeling of relaxation. The light doesn’t cause any burns or skin damage. It’s pretty much painless, and if you like lights, the colors can even be relaxing. We typically recommend light therapy every one to two weeks if an important event is coming up.
  • What are the benefits?
  • People turn to LED therapy to fix skin problems such as acne or reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. As mentioned above, each infrared light targets specific areas and skin concerns. The red infrared lights are used for fine lines and wrinkles. The blue lights are used to improve acne and prevent breakouts by killing the acne-causing bacteria. Also, blue light penetrates deep to treat cystic acne.
